Import template for categories
You download the import template by going into the Import Tool in the menu and clicking on New and then in the Template type drop down, choosing * Category*and clicking on download file template.

Below follows a description of existing columns. (There's also a short description in Merchant Center under View template description)
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Id | The categories Id in the system. If it's set to 0 then a new category is created. If it's empty then existing will be updated if the a match is found on the name, otherwise it creates a new. |
| Name | Name of the category. Mandatory. Important to think about writing in the name on the category if it exists. If the Id is there and the Name field is left empty then the existing name will be cleared. |
| Description | The categories description. Applies to the Description 1 field in on the category. |
| ParentId | Id on the parent category. If filled in the category will be placed as a under category. If left empty then the category will be imported on the highest level. |
| Parent | Name on the parent category. If filled in the category will be placed as a under category. If left empty then the category will be imported on the highest level. |
| Language Id | Language Id (default 1, Swedish) Used in translations. |
| Active | If the category is active or not. 1 for active, 0 for inactive (default=1, active) If left empty is set as active. |
| MetaTitle | Meta title for the category. |
| MetaDescription | Meta description for the category. |
| MetaKeywords | Meta Keywords for the category. |
Import parameters
Via the import tool you can apply parameters and parameter values to products. This requires that you have created parameter groups and their parameters before. Import template for GoogleTaxonomy
This import template makes it possible to easily match your categories in Google Taxonomy. Google Taxonomy lists categories that are used by google to help distribute products in departments in a shopping flow.
