BACKGROUND

All out experience

KA YO was born out of the well-known department store Nordiska Kompaniet, where premium brands present their latest and most sought-after products. And since KA YO aims to take it a step further, they decided to bring in the well-known design Agency Public Image, to craft the brand identity. The result is a precise and minimal, yet distinctive design combined with imagery setting KA YO miles apart from traditional retailers. 

THE SETUP

Future proofed commerce stack

Since KA YO sells outdoor fashion and their brand is critical to their success, they were looking for a flexible commerce platform that could handle inventory updates at a fast pace, content, and personalization for any market, and on top of that be ready for traffic spikes during peak seasons. The solution of course needed to be headless for the design and equipped with robust API:s for future development. 

A solution like that isn't easy to find out there today. Even giants like Shopify+ and Adobe commerce cloud have their disadvantages while other composable platforms just won’t fit every business, especially when looking at the total cost of ownership and the amount of knowledge you need to implement it well.

FRONTEND & CONTENT

Speed and flexible content management

The store itself was built upon Geins Ralph, a PWA storefront known for its speed. Thanks to the pre-built assets, Carismar Agency (implementation partner) needed only about one month to complete the project and launch the site. 

The CMS used for the KA YO project was Geins native cms. With the features the cms are packed with, the eCommerce team can now fully schedule everything from content to products months in advance and segment where and when it will be shown.

INVENTORY

Easy product catalog and multi-market support

Everyone in eCommerce knows that it’s pretty much all about admin when it comes to keeping your store in order, so the best way to handle the challenges with products is to have a great PIM at your disposal. And luckily, the native PIM in Geins is ready for (almost) anything. The team at KA YO can easily both import, update, and even personalize a lot of products for visitors thanks to the flexible parameter system. Other features such as multi-languages and multi-currencies come straight out of the box when choosing to go with Geins.
