Product pictures

You find the pictures for a product in the box images on the product view. There you will have the possibility to upload pictures, change order (with drag&drop), deactivate or erase pictures.

Guidelines

• Recommended format for pictures to upload is .jpg*(requirement for webP converting). *
• What proportions/measurements the product pictures shall have is controlled by the store's design and how it's built up. If you have any questions regarding this, contact your project manager on your agency for help.
• The product pictures should have a resolution (width x height in pixels) that's at least twice as large as the biggest pictures that are used in the store. (It's usually the product picture that's shown in a magnified view on the product's page in the store, but even that's controlled by the store's design and how it's built up).

Upload pictures on an individual product

• Go into the specific product in Merchant Center
• In the box images, click on Add - Choose one or more pictures to upload
• Place the pictures in the order you want them to have. First picture (Main image) is the one that will be shown in listings.
• Save the product by clicking on** Save **. The pictures will be visible in the store soon.

Import product pictures with the import tool

To be able to import pictures via the import tool, the pictures need to be uploaded somewhere so they are available via a link.

• Click on Import Tool in the left menu then click New to make a new import.
• If you have a file ready then you can upload it, choose the right file format and template type Product Images and click on Next.
• If you first want to take down the completed import template then you click on the Template type drop down and choose Product Images and click on download template file. Description of the import template and it's different fields can be read in this article
• When you are done with your file, you click on Next.
• Ensure that the existing columns are mapped correctly and click on Start Import. Depending on how many pictures you are importing, this step may take awhile when the pictures are being automatically scaled to the picture sizes that are needed. You can let the import work in the background while you are working with other parts in Merchant Center.
• When the import is done, the pictures will be in their place on the current products.

Settings and extended functionality

There are many settings and extended functions you can set for the product pictures when it's needed. These settings can need specific configurations.

Available settings:

• Format on the product pictures file-name format - Enables you to set up how you want the product pictures file names to be built up. Powerful with SEO optimization for example. Default format is trademark+productname.jpg.Setting: ProductImageNameFormat
• ImageTags -Enables you to tag specific pictures on a product. A example of use could be if you want to show different pictures as the main picture in the listings on product dependent on what category or grouping it's shown in.
