How do I manage ALT texts on images?

In the CMS, there is a field for **Image description (Alt text)** during image uploads, where you can enter an ALT text for the uploaded image.

ALT texts for product images are managed in your app, such as a storefront. Therefore, we recommend reaching out to your implementation agency handling the storefront to understand how this is set up and what options are available.

In the Merchant Center, there is a Tags feature for product images. This function could potentially be used for ALT texts if you want the ability to add text via the Merchant Center. Each tag can contain up to 100 characters. This is also something you can discuss with your agency to explore implementation possibilities if relevant.

When uploading images in the Merchant Center, it's important that they are high-quality and large in size since they will be scaled for different purposes. JPG and PNG formats are well-suited for this.
